Become a Voting Member of the BDD Foundation
Do you share our vision of a world where nobody affected by Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) suffers alone?
By becoming a voting member of The BDD Foundation, you can play an important role in helping to shape the future of the charity. Our voting members form part of the charity’s governance structure and help ensure that the Foundation remains accountable to the community it serves.
What do voting members do?
Members have the opportunity to:
- Attend and vote at Annual General Meetings (AGMs)
- Appoint trustees to oversee the charity
- Approve the Foundation’s annual accounts
- Vote on significant changes to the charity’s constitution
- Help support the long-term direction and sustainability of the Foundation
Who can apply?
Membership is open to individuals and organisations who support the aims and charitable purposes of The BDD Foundation and are committed to acting in the best interests of the charity.
We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of BDD, family members and carers, healthcare professionals, researchers, supporters, and others who share our commitment to improving the lives of those affected by BDD.
Voting Membership responsibilities
Voting members are expected to:
- Act in accordance with the Foundation’s Constitution and Membership Code of Conduct
- Attend and participate in AGMs
- Exercise their voting rights in good faith and in the best interests of the charity
- Support the charitable purposes of The BDD Foundation
Membership is granted for a four-year term and may be renewed in accordance with the Foundation’s Constitution.
